>Is C# the best alternative to a VFP programmer ?

That is totally up to you ... try both C# and VB and see what feels most "natural" to you. I prefer C#, although I doubt that my preference has anything to do with my VFP background.

>I heard that C# does not have a command window, is it true ?

In VS2005, C# has what they call an "Immediate Window", which is similar to the command window in VFP ... there are limitations to it's use, but it's better than nothing (I believe they even called it "command window" in VS2003).
