>>It took labor hundreds of years in this country to obtain what we call workers rights and a safe workplace. Overnight, American companies found how to resolve the issues related to health, safety, benefits, child labor, and a fair wage for its labor force, by moving to other countries. Our government condones this and works hand in hand with such companies. The companies receive tax benefits as well.

>And to cripple the american workplace. I have little sympathy for union workers, whose management hamstrings the company by their demands for unreasonable increase. they would rather see the company go bankrupt than to negotiate fairly.

>Walmart has the right idea. If you want to unionize, fine, we'll close the store and you'll all lose your jobs. We'll go build somewhere where people want to work.
>
>I heard a report on National communist radio (NPR), this weekend about the vote at one of the casinos in Atlantic City. The union lost the vote and the first thing out of the reps mouth, was that the company cheated and was involved in illegal activity. Sour Grapes because they lost.

>Unions had their place at one time, but are completely and utterly anachronistic in today's society.
Everyone should work for one bowl of rice a day, live on the street and work 20 hour shifts seven days a week. We have to protect the profits of even the smallest buisness. Maybe the workers should only get a half a bowl of rice. Better yet, no rice.
If companies were fair there would be no need for unions. It is because of unions we find ourselves where we are today, for better or worse. Labor laws, worker protection and all that goes with it costs money. Just move offshore and you do not have to worry about such things.
In time the offshore workers will unionize and then what? Find a poor nation to start the process all over again. By that time that poor nation could well be us.
