I really don't see one. The only way would be for corporations to develop a conscience, and as long as a lack of conscience proves profitable, it won't happen.

I really do agree about the usefulness of unions though. Here in Canada, it seems to me that the purpose of the union has changed from 'making sure that workers are treated fairly (like human beings)' to making sure that the union bosses have a way to show their power. Half the time I honestly believe that union demands have nothing whatever to do with fairness for the worker, and everything to do with union boss beligerance.

At the same time workers need something to offset their otherwise lack of leverage.
