Do I need to create new controls that inherit from the updated classes, or is there a way simply to point the old controls to the new base classes? It's kind of a pain everytime there is an update, having to redo everything.

I usually do it manually by hacking forms/classlibs, but AFAIK there is a tool available (if my memory serves me right by Glenn Domeracki (sorry for the last name misspell if any))

Also, look at the Class Browser and right-click on the class and select Redefine to point the base class to the new parent class.

Sorry Naomi, meant reply to Marcel.
