I once had this problem a long time ago under W2K but cannot remember how I fixed it. You could try deleting via a DOS command window, or using CHKDSK during a re-boot possibly. Other programs like advanced disk defraggers or disk partitioners may also be able to detect and fix it. Also, searching Google finds tools like
