Textmerge works in FPD2.6, just not into a variable. You can redirect it into a file, and BTW the handle is in the system variable _text, so you can mix fwrite(_text, "any text") with your textmerge, and it'll still work.

With a few changes to stream the text into a file, your code should work in FPD2.6 just the same as it would now... i.e. it'll complain about the +alltrim().
