My first IMSAI S-100 used a Kansas City Tape Drive. It was the best drive available. It only took 15 minutes to load a subset of Basic. Then along came along some guy named Bill Gates and he offered a board that you simply plugged into the S-100, turned on your computer and Basic was loaded in seconds.
