>>>I had WordStar version .92, which ran on my IMSAI S-100 computer. We could do everything needed with just 64K of RAM, including running dBase II, using CP/M and MP/M operating systems. How I miss those 8" floppies! :)

>>Actually some of the early PCs -- i.e. before the IBM PC -- did not have floppy drives. The storage mechanism was cassette tape.

>I built an IMSAI S-100 for my place of employment. It used 4-8" drives. My vice president was so impressed he allowed me to purchase a 10 Meg Hard Disk. It was made by Fujitsu, and the price was $5000. The good news was it only occupied half of the cabinet. You could purchase a second 10 Meg Hard Disk for less and simply plug in the second drive into the original cabinet. Who could ever use more than 10 meg's? :)
When I got my first 10 meg drive, I thought, "What the heck am I going to use this for? I could probably get the library of congress on this thing!". How naive we were.
