In some cases it's even simpler: you can say
Grid.Addcolumn(1)
to get new column on the left, though you will not get column name on spot.
Btw, if you want to resolve some small problems with changing column order for other columns, then I will give you simple solution too.
Don't allow yourself to fall for solicitation.
