I bow to greater knowledge of the man than mine. I just have a tendency to tune out evengelists of any stripe. As you say though, if such comments don't get publicised, I'm probably not going to know about them.

>His comments on Catholics are well known here in North Carolina. A lot of his comments are never publicized if they are controversial. He has a LOT more political clout than most other Reverends including Reverend Falwell...
>
>Back in the 40s and 50s he made statements such as 'The three gravest menaces faced by orthodox Christianity are communism, Roman Catholicism, and Mohammedanism.' Now he is friendly towards the Catholic church and all other religions. My problem is not that he has changed course, but that he doesn't recognize publicly that his views have changed (or at least his public views on the Catholic church). I would hope what he presents to the public NOW is his real view, but based on what is said in local churches here, I do not think so.

>>>>>>>You never heard Billy Graham splutter crap and hate like that.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>I have heard Billy Graham denounce Roman Catholics on many occasions as well as his son and daughter do the same thing. I have not been able to understand any so called "Christian" who hates others, and openly professes it. Mr. Graham has taught his children well. His words could well have an effect upon the thoughts and actions of others.

>>>>>Disagreeing with someone's point of view doesn't mean hate... does it?
>>>>
>>>>Depends on how you go about disagreeing. We disagree many times, but I certainly don't tell the world that God let the all those people die in the towers just because of who you are. If I did, then that would be spewing hate. That's the kind of hate Fallwell spewed.
>>>
>>>Talking about Billy Graham, not Falwell.
>>
>>Oh, ok, I was talking in General. As for Graham, I'm not aware of the same Billy Graham that Tom apparently is.
