Yeah, but 100 or so years back, it was the norm for children (poor children, anyway) to work in this country. We finally decided that was wrong and fixed it. I believe in respecting other cultures, but not to the point that I think it's okay for an 8-year-old to work a 10-hour day instead of going to school. Some rights are fundamental:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."

I put the right for children to be children and to be educated among those fundamental rights and consider it part of my responsibility as a living, breathing human being to do what I can to make that a reality.
