I would imagine that the story about the coup attempt on FDR was hushed up to protect the rich and powerful figures involved. Imagine the media and politicians did not leak the information! I hope that this will not happen again. The plan included using 500,000 military veterans, with the assistance of the American Legion.

Considering the Bonus March of 1932, and how it was handled, I would think that Generals MacArthur and Patton would once again come to the aid of our nation and lead our troops against the veterans. MacArthur and Patton considered the Bonus March to be communist conspiracy.

MacArthur was ordered to not pursue the marchers across the bridge to where the marchers had their camp, and he disobeyed orders. Perhaps that adds fuel to why Harry Truman fired him during the Korean Conflict.
