Grady, as Greg pointed, it is the OS Decission, but using Windows XP Pro or Vista Ultimate, in a multi core machine you are most likely to take advantage of your dual or multi core, because both OS support Multi cores.

Even in the same process, spanning several threads you could take advantage of that.
