>>Fun fact : Huxley died the same day JFK was shot. Story is told that when he knew he was going out he had Laura give him a massive dose of Sandoz LSD. Man, don't just open the Doors of Perception - kick those suckers down <bg>

>I heard from a reliable source, that Huxley was having an out of body experience because of the acid and he floated over to Dallas and made Oswald shoot Kennedy while he (Huxley) hovered over a grassy knoll. All because he didn't want Jack to outlive him.

( I find that totally believable - or at least I would have in the 60s - but I should say for benefit of lurkers who have stayed with the pythonesque writhing of this thread that the think about Huxley dying while tripping is quite true - at least according to Laura Huxley's autobio )

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
