>>What's it like to get a shot in the stomach? I'm as brave as any other guy but the thought of it gives me the heebie jeebies. I picture the needle about a foot long. Maybe it's one of those things that sounds scarier than it is.

>It was pretty close to 40 years ago, but I remember it was a very big needle and I just couldn't believe they were really going to do it. I actually thought is was some kind of hazing thing. I'm not at all squeemish about needles but yeah, that one really freaked me. Heck of an incentive not to pet strange animals, though.

Ah, like I said, I can remember all the horror stories of huge needles in the gut, but I imagine it's easier now. When I first read that I thought, oh, they stuill do then. Then you said 40 years ago. :-)

>>>Before being sent to Turkey I was given a battery of shots, including three rabies shot in the stomach. I asked if this meant if I got bit I'd be okay and they said no, this will just increase your chances of staying alive until you can get to Ankara so we can give you the full 18.

>>>>>>>Hate to spoil your enjoyment, but I regularly see foxes out in the woods. Foxes tend to not come out in the open though, so if one does, it usually is desperate or ill. Stay away from it. I once had a rabid fox leap onto my car while I was stopped at a stop sign in my rural area. It ran across the road to house on the land there and ran straight to the house. They had to catch it and turn it over for testing and sure enough, it was rabid.
