You're so lucky. In my small walled yard birds have only recently come to feed. This correlates directly in the decline in nos of cats in our neighbourhood. But I only get blackbirds, bullfinch, collared dove and the odd seagull.

I was once watching the array of birds feeding at my ma's bird table (on a chicken carcass!) when a blur of speckled brown swooped in on them and scattered. I couldn't follow what it was as it went around the house, but I suspect it was a sparrow hawk.

I was saddened yesterday morning to watch an immature eagle catch a small Carolina Chickadee only about 15' in front of me. I froze when I first thought it was coming directly at me. My daughter was furious after it happened, but then it's not like they can buy their food in the supermarket, is it? She has witnessed the hawks and the eagles catching rabbits and chicks her whole life.

>>>I like that type of architecture. Second only IMO to Art Nouveau (Prague and Paris mainly). I used to like shooting architecture before I did birds. Now that the birding season is over and I'm getting more into the hobby I'm doing more architecture shots.

>>Oh, and if you like taking bird pix, you'd love the flocks of starlings coming in to roost on the derelict pier, round about spring and autumn equinox times.
