Well, I remember being invited to Redmond at Microsoft's expense with 25-30 other FoxPro experts to see a preview of the product and provide feedback. I remember the '95 DevCon (the largest ever).

I also look at VFP 3 and compare it to FP2.x. Do you remember how much was new and different? Do you remember trying to get your head around it all?

I don't disagree with you on this. I just think it's silly to say that was the intention from day 1. That would ascribe better planning to Microsoft than I've ever seen. This is the company that was late to the game on the Internet and turned on a dime to embrace it.
