I've said that I appreciated your work and your input into the community. I've also said that I don't blame the "gurus" for what's happened, I blame M$. But shortly after you told me how much you and other "experts" had done for the community, you turned around and blamed the community for the demise of VFP. That's beyond lame. You say you care for this community so much and then turn around a heap the blame on us?!

My brother worked for Martin Marietta Data Systems selling mainframe products. They stopped advertising one - maybe more - of their products. The customers and prospect noticed this. The competitors had not stopped advertising. The potential buyers and upgraders felt the company was not really behind the product, so sales fell off. Why buy a product that the company does not seem to stand behind? Mgt. tried to blame the sales force, but what did they expect when they stopped advertising? And they weren't going to blame themselves for such a stupid decision. The prospects did what you'd expect. It's no different here. M$ did not advertise or in any significant way stand behind the product, so no wonder people left and no wonder upgrades fell off. And they also put it in MSDN and probably didn't count those sales like they should have. So then M$ (and Andy Kramek and you) try to blame this dropoff on the customer. Wake up and smell the roses. If you love this community, don't give it a bum rap. Don't blame it for the demise of VFP.

>Yes .. I understood that .. and appreciated that. Most of us that write articles and speak at conferences and answer questions on forums like this do it because we want to pay forward what someone else has done for us. We love giving back to the community and it's a great feeling when it's appreciated.
