>Hi, I agree with you, the Last survey done in the UniversalThread http://www.levelextreme.com/VisualFoxPro/Community.asp shows the community using the Most up to date version, and most, planning to upgrade to VFP9.

When working for larger clients the app was ported using the SP1. One costly try to port from vfp6 to vfp7 failed - at that time I was not working for this company but was told about by the lead programmer I do think highly of.

From then on to vfp8SP1 as vfp9 was about to be released and then to vfp9Sp1 later on. As testing was more of a cost factor than business case induced rewrites they were hesitant after the vfp7 no go. Bad from a programmer's POV, understandable from controlling side - and managment tried a stupid way to jump to the new version as well. But they sure lagged. Another large bank keeps the 3 vfp apps at 6.0 - thry have minimal changes and will not go for a recompile and re-test. The smaller companies went for 9.0 because of the report engine mostly - 8.0 was used, but the new features are seldom seen. Which is a pity, as Bindevent() is better than sliced bread.
