Not knowing the customer/business requirements of an application would prevent me from stating that “Good way to tie the users hands and not let them use the software the way they want, and possibly increasing productivity and their acceptance of the application”.

Allowing users to be “creative” and do as they please can be a dangerous thing. If I let my customers “use the software the way they want”, we might all be on Mars! :)
