>>I saw this for the first time at Trader Joe's yesterday. The word sounds nauseous, and for those who know no better a beer to leave on the shelf! Yuck!

>Bear in mind these are the folks who sell a brand of wine called Charles Shaw. It sells for $2 a bottle (at least in California), hence the nickname Two Buck Chuck. I have never had it but have heard it is not nearly as bad as you would guess from the price and is quite popular.
Although Trader Joe’s is the exclusive distributor for two buck chuck, it seems that Phuket beer has other outlets from what I understand.
Thailand is mentioned in the link below.
http://www.phuketbeer.com/press_release.html My brother has some good concepts about what beer is acceptable and why. First and foremost is Guinness (draught)! Avoid American beer in green bottles. Think Mickey’s wide mouth (green death) and Rainier Ale (green death). Avoid beer with pictures of animals on the label. Green bottles with a female on the label are ok.
I avoid American beer. German beer is good and my favorite is Spaten (draught). Other than that you are on your own!
