>But don't forget, as of the present (I may be wrong, but I think there is another year's grace) it's only banned if done by professionals. I can kill everything in the neighbourhood by doing my own spraying and it's ok. If you ask me, they did it backward (much like everything else city council does). They should have banned spraying by homeowners and given the professionals a few years grace.

But you have to admit, forbidding something to be done by professionals leaves open the possiblity of some very creative advertising. "We guarantee all our work is done by untrained amateurs, completely clueless as to your landscaping maintenance needs. We promise we don't know what the hell we are doing"

( truth in advertising would have made this good ad copy for the contractor who built my new addition <g> )

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
