The Bahá'í Faith teaches that founders of several religions have, indeed, been sent by one and the same God. The following Messengers of God are often named:
Abraham
Jesus Christ
Moses
Buddha
Krishna
Zarathustra
The Báb
Bahá'u'lláh
The latter two are considered the founders of the Bahá'í Faith.
According to our belief, other Divine Messengers will appear sometime in the distant future (not before a thousand years).
The Wikipedia article on progressive revelation - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_revelation - seems to accurately reflect the Bahá'í teachings on this subject.
Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
