Christof, is it possible to wrap the entire procedure so that all tables currently open, or to be opened, are made transactable, then issue BEGIN TRANSACTION, then run the existing routine (which may open other files), then issue END TRANSACTION to commit all changes?

I also have exclusive access to all tables btw.
