I've been using .Net and the Mere Mortals framework for about a year now and am very satisfied. Moving to .Net from VFP was very daunting, but using MM .Net made the move much easier. Kevin provides an excellent help file that includes "Jump Start" tutorials to help you get started. His book ".Net for Visual FoxPro Developers" (http://foxcentral.net/microsoft/NETforVFPDevelopers.htm) was also a big help.

As far as support -- I don't post here often, but I have always been able to find the answers to my questions, either on UT or directly from Kevin. Most importantly, Kevin is always improving the framework based on ideas and suggestions from the users. Whenever I've come across an issue at the framework level (which is rare), Kevin has either worked with me to find another solution or incorporated our needs in the framework. Better yet -- We've never had to hold up development waiting for answers.

Mere Mortals comes with all of the .Net controls (grids, dropdown lists, text boxes, etc) subclassed with the frameworks data binding. You wouldn't need to purchase additional controls unless you wanted extended functionality.

I will admit I was disappointed when the company made the decision to use a framework for all of our .Net development. I felt it would be too limiting and difficult to work with. Boy was I wrong (probably why I'm not the boss!) Using Mere Mortals has been a life saver -- faster, easier and more standardized development.

Good luck with your decision.
