I'll have to read those entries next week. Thanks. My opinions, of course, are from my perspective as a Christian and I realize you have a different take on things. We are all God's children and fall short of His hopes for us. And no one religion has a stranglehold on the truth, nor do they have God on "their side."

>>It makes no sense to use the Bible to justify its authority. You can't justify your own authority.
>>
>>Additionally, I feel it is a Christian of weak faith who has to believe in an infallible and inerrant Bible. The human experience is a journey on which was must continue to learn. The Bible is a help on that journey, but it is not the authority. God is the authority. The Holy Spirit informs our decisions. Jesus asked the Pharisees to let go of their safety blanket (their Scriptures) and trust in Him. I don't mean He asked them to completely let go, but merely to look beyond and be willing to see a greater truth. They refused.

>Now what's really interesting is that the Pharisees where the ones who led to modern Judaism, which is absolutely not about biblical literalism. As I was reminded in a study session the other night, Judaism is a rabbinic religion--we practice based on the rabbi's (ongoing) interpretation of the Bible.
