I've never had anything to do with Oracle, so I can only guess. But if there were the two versions of VFP and the language was much the same, there would be a lot more VFP developers.

The other 'version' is VFP using SQL Server as the database. It is (or was, until MS shot the fox dead) a competitor. It's easy to integrate and has the reliability, security, and scalability advantages of SQL Server and the RAD development capabilities of VFP.
