OK, what are the motive and concerns of the customer? You're making assumptions here?
And lets see. MS is releasing a new OS every 4 years or so. VFP is supported until 2014 for critical bugs and there is no doubt in my mind that it will run many years beyond that on any future OS, even if it has to run in some kind of emulator or mode.
FUD, FUD, FUD, is all I see here.
One client of mine, demands W98 support... So what does that leave you?? There is a huge generalisation up here to assume what a client demands. As someone writing and selling software, most clients don't give a hoot about what the application is written in, as long as it works for them, is cheap and well supported. Arguments I don't see from these discussions.
Also, what I don't see right now, is the alternative. .NET in it current state ?? Give me a break. The data handling arena is as clear as mud and under a lot of development. Anything you write right now is outdated within one or two years ?? Talk about a maintenance nightmare...
Just my 2 cents
