John, I do wonder if you do find a viable alternative to VFP will you stay on the VFP section of the UT and continue to beat down for years those that do not follow you to the new promised land?Of course not- that would demonstrate a large degree of insecurity IMHO. I might pop up if I pass by and see the usual self-proclaimed prophets saying silly things, but it's more likely I'd be spending my time in Linux/PHP/wherever forums where there would be value. In addition, I would see no reason to announce my plans as some sort of revelation (I followed XYZ vendor's development plan which makes me a genius!) or at all unless as a small part of some sort of community effort to examine the options should any acceptable leader ever step forward to drive that. What I've found in the last six weeks is that those who shout the loudest about their latest cool technology tend to be astonishingly Soviet once you peer under the hood, so it would need to be a realistic appraisal rather than chanting of slogans and piling-on by the usual culprits.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
