Thanks for your suggestion.

I'm not getting any new content rendered. Even with the basic button updating a label with the current time doesn't render the updated time.

In both cases (my DetailsView triggered by a drop-down and the basic button updating a label) I can see that the event is firing, just no new content. I did try setting the UpdateMode to conditional.

I'm guessing I didn't quite get the web.config updated correctly since when I created a "ASP.Net AJAX Enabled website" I was able to run the basic Label updated by a button in the UpdatePanel. Or, there's some extra hoops to jump through when using Mere Mortals inherited pages.

>Not sure what you mean by "it's not working"....but here's one possibility...when you add an updatepanel, there's an property called "UpdateMode" (or something like that). You might have to change it to "Conditional", based on what you're trying to do.
