So noted. Thanks for the info!

>DLP (Which I have) I think stands for Digital Light Projection. There is no standard picture tube as old tvs. It's a big light that shines thru a spinning wheel. The wheel has colors on it. And somehow the light shines at the rite time to get the rite color. Then there are many mirrors that reflect the light to the correct spot on the screen. It doesn't look as cool as flat screen. But it is still a lot lighter, and flatter then a standard tv. Mine is about 17" deep.

>I got mine 2 yrs ago. And I heard about issues with LCD and Plasma. Burn-in, like the old computer screens. So if you leave a game sitting there for a while, it could burn into the screen. Screen-door effect, so because the screen is so pixilated, you can see the pixels and it appears you're watching the screen thru a screen-door.

>That said, I haven't checked on this, but they announced new tech for LCD last yr at the big electronics show. LCD tvs were at 60khz. New ones are now at 120khz. And the increase is supposed to minimize if not completely do away with most LCD problems. So if you go with LCD, you need to make sure it's a 120khz set.

>>So I am looking at getting an HD TV sometime in the future, and I am hoping somebody on here can straighten me up on some lingo.

>>A guy I know tells me I want 1080p. He also says avoid Plasmas, and look into DLPs if I want to spend a bit more for better quality.
>>
>>When I look at the Best Buy website, I see they have a category for LCD Flat Panel, and Projection. What are the differences? I see a trend that LCD Flat Panels are more expensive. If the only difference is that the Flat Panels are flat, and the Rear Projections aren't, then I don't want to spend the extra money on an LCD.

>>This is kind of overwhelming. Can anybody out there straighten me out?
