So basically I want to create a program that listens to a comm port and any data that is recieved is put into a edit box on a Form.

Now heres the tricky part. The other computer that is sending info to the comm port is gonna end each string of information it sends w/ a carriage return. When my program recieves this carriage return, I want it to allow the user to send a line of text to the comm port for the other computer. Then after that line is sent, go back to listening.

Im new to foxpro, and just kinda need a little help w/ the conceptual design of how I would design this program. Is there a way to have a program constantly running (looping) in the background that listens to the comm port and post the info to a form, and waits for the carriage return, without freezing the users actions.
