Yes, there is a need as you're saying. It may not seems like it but distributing 100000 emails per week generates a lot of traffic and transactions on the server. That's why I wanted to dedicate a server for that. Now, when it distribute emails, it does not affect the speed of the Universal Thread.
When I was in Phoenix, I configured my account to be part of the listserv so I can use the slow connection to get all the messages by email instead of the Web. But, as you may know it by now, the hotel lines were very bad in Phoenix so no one was able to connect.
