I haven't had any inserts with triggers, but I would think the method I described would not work. I read Alexey's solution and need to step through it. It seems that this is a superior solution in that the insert command is sent along with code to retrieve the ID and results in only one trip to the server. I hadn't seen his solution before. Thanks.
