I’m working with Adobe InDesign and would like to enable a button if InDesign is installed. It takes a good while if you try to create the object. Is there anyway to check for the existence of the same object without actually trying to open it?

You can check the registry - but then you also have to use the information stored in the registry to check to see if the appplication is indeed physically present on disk.

If you have a copy of Microsoft Office Automation with Visual FoxPro there is code in there that you can use to do this.
