Sure, that's a preferred method and most of the times it works well. Most of the times...

Having said that, in this particular "what if" case, I'm no longer easilly distressed by what co-workers say about or do to me. I simply quit (round off) the job (the contract). If they don't appreciate me, then so be it. I no longer investigate in irrational quarrels with 'Superiors'. It's an uneven battle that can't hardly be won with arguments alone.
