>I don't have the patience to play golf. I swing way too hard and slice horribly. Such a frustrating game, and it is really expensive to get good at, since it costs 40 bucks around here to play a round.

It does take a lot of patience, time and money to learn to play at the point you feel like when you swing the ball will go somewhat forward, in roughly the direction you intended. Tempo is my key. When that is off, I swing way too hard and slice horribly as well. It's more like $50/$60 here for a decent course, but there are a ton of them to choose from. When I lived in NYC, I played at Bethpage Black and we had to book 2 weeks in advance. And this was before the US Open was played there. Here, I can just call them up the same day and get a tee-time. I love to play, and a little 9-year old girl I know loves to play now too. I started her in the golf cult when she was just 1 1/2 years old. I'm going to need someone to drive me around when I'm blind, can't walk and still want to swing a club. :-D
