>>>>>>But here is the true litmus test for you. Do you ever cheat at golf? Not in a practice round where you're playing two balls or more from every tee, but just the regular round. I used to nudge the ball once in a while when I first started, but not in the past 15 years.

My golf buddies and I have an understanding that if our ball comes to rest in a divot we can get relief (in hazards, never). But even then I usually don't do it. But if sand traps are unplayable (usually after heavy rain) we get relief.

>>I don't have the patience to play golf. I swing way too hard and slice horribly. Such a frustrating game, and it is really expensive to get good at, since it costs 40 bucks around here to play a round.

>Mike, I found the perfect antidote to a bad slice. Play only with water on your left. You'll instantly trade your slice for a hook - guaranteed.

That's funny you mentioned that. The course I used to play was made for people with a splice, because all the hazards were on the left... until there is a half dozen nice SUV's parked in the parking lot, and I managed to nail 2 of them at once with a nasty hook.
Very fitting: http://xkcd.com/386/
