It's been a while since we've used Novell, but if memory serves me correctly...
I *think* what your seeing is a Novell flaw, where it refuses to release ownership of the file. If I'm right, I believe it times out after about 15 minutes. I'll check with my Network Administrator when he gets back and send you more information when/if I get any.
