>>>Just thought I would share the things that have made my working with a laptop more comfortable. I'm at coffee shops or hotels a lot, so with lots of research and a little trial-and-error, these are what work best for me. I also work at home sitting on the couch so I made a simple lap desk out of a 12" x 24" thin hardwood board, with a section of a styrofoam piece glued underneath that adds tilt and is comfortable on my legs. Works great. I'll send pics if anyone is interested. Too big to carry around, but great for the house.

>>>Would be curious what others have found for themselves too.

>>...I picked up a Seagate 1TB FreeAgent external hard drive for $309 (and no rebates) from CompUSA over the weekend. I should have it full around Monday afternoon...hahaha. The most annoying thing I deal with is the zillion USB cables and a USB Hub I carry around. I want one of those new wireless USB hubs, but seeing how than run about $400 right now, I'll be waiting for Moore's law to catch up with those for a while before I buy one.

>Yeah, I saw those, and the 500gb ones, but I just coudn't justify it when all I really needed to backup 3 machines and some music was about 50gb. I think the glowing yellow/orange light on the side is pretty cool too. Does yours have that?

Yepper. I have a 500gig one too that looks identical. The thing that sold me on them was how lightweight the things are. The unit itself is light, and the power adapter is tiny and light too. I have an older 400gig external drive (also a seagate but a different model) that isnt a whole lot bigger, but it weights a LOT more - and its got some giant power adapter like you'd see of a laptop. The two FreeAgent ones together weight less than the other one...plus that's 1.5TB instead of 400gig. Now if I could just fit all that on my usb stick I'd be happy.....
