>IF the font for the nine fields that make up the social security number is set at Courier New 9, I may want to change the 4th field on one detail line to MsSanSerif 10 BOLD. When the line is printed, I want to revert back to Courier New 9 because on the next line of the report, I'll want to changer the fon on the 2nd of the 9 fields only.

Purely, well mostly purely, out of curiousity...
Are the rules for when to make the change simple and few?
Is it always a toggling between the same 2 fonts? Or can it be almost any font for each field? Is that part user configurable, or always the same?
...If the rules are few and simple
...If it is always toggling between the same two fonts
...Even if it is user configurable (stored in a table of user preferences)

...then you could get by with 9 fields for one state, overlaid by 9 fields for the other state.

...otherwise, buy the user lunch and explain to them....(translation - it can be dine but...it's a royal pain....or maybe like someone said, you should check out that other tool.)

Good Luck
Rick
