The employee ID in SAP is PERNR field on the InfoTypes. This field is not stored as part of the user ID structure in SAP (also not employees may have an user ID in SAP). There is an InfoType for user information (0001) -- the SAP implementation may have stored information there.

The location you are at may have stored the EmployeeID (PERNR) into the AD as a field -- if so, you will need to know what field and then retrieve based on that field.
