There was an interesting article in the Toronto Star the other day about the fact that she seems to be getting no support from her 'friends' in the entertainment industry. Many of them backed Mel Gibson after his drunken tirade. Same with Alec Baldwin and Robert Downey Jr. But nobody is getting behind her. Michael Levine, a Hollywood publicist said it might be because, "She is a person who got into the famous club for nothing and I think there's some contempt around that."

>Ok, now at least be honest and fair. It was not because she was not getting adequate 'room service' in jail. It was due to an undisclosed medical condition. She had a nervous breakdown because the room service was inadequate. :o)

>>>>>40 days in jail for drunk-driving is too much??? :O To me someone who drive under the influence of alcohol is as dangerous as someone who point randomly a gun at people.
>>>>>
>>>>>>Paris is paying a bigger price for her crime than most do. She should get the standard sentence, not this crap. The judge is using her for political reasons.
>>>>
>>>>That's not the point. The rules should be laid down for the "system". Once someone is adjudicated, they system's rules should dictate what happens to them, not some arbitray ruling from a grandstanding judge or sheriff. One size should fit all, in this case - rich or poor, big or small....
>>>
>>>On the other hand, she was given a sentence which was then abrogated by a guy who wanted to make points with the rich and famous. Had it been either one of us who was given the sentence she got, what are the chances we'd have been sent home after only a couple of days?
>>>
>>>Whether or not the sentence was unfair in the first place, I think the judge was entirely justified in being enraged at what happened.
>>>
>>>Lots of people get unfair sentences. Some on the short side, some on the long side, but nobody I've ever heard of gets to go home after a couple of days because they're bored.
>>
>>
>>It wasn't because she was bored. It was because she couldn't get decent room service at the jail.
