I hope that after you've had some time to reflect, you'll realize that your conclusion is pretty flawed.
You've already received some answers. Add to that, the popular Paint.NET is written in .NET. (It's been awhile since I looked at it, but I believe you can get the source code as well).
Also, Digital Vantage Point (
www.dvp.net) has built products in .NET. One of their main products is Nav-to-Net, an e-commerce solution and Transaction Manager for Microsoft's Navision.
There are others out there - the question is....what kind of application is your company looking to build?
