I've had a good look at Linq and quite like it... but why laugh?
With no hidden meaning and in an attempt to maintain levity, I have a literary question for an Englishman. "Laugh while you may" ... where might you find that written? The jury is still out, as it won't be released for several months. But so far, here is the most common reaction I've seen:
- that LINQ and the new supporting language features are nice
- that the ability to use (generally) the same syntax to query against XML or custom collections is really nice
- linq to sql is (so far) the weakest link (no pun intended), and many haven't seen enough to feel compelled to change the way they're doing things
