I've seen this happen a few times on Vista boxes and uninstalling/reinstalling MM .NET seems to fix the problem. One developer sent us this message the other day:
"I uninstalled MM this morning, and reinstalled it and guess what? It all seems to be working fine. The only thing I did differently this time was select the “Make available to all” check box."
