I read the newspapers - San Jose Mercury, San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, and a few New York rags to boot! I also watch BBC, German, Russian, Italian, and Spanish news television stations besides our own. At times it is all a joke but what follows is not funny - at least not to me!
The president is against foreign prescription drugs from entering our shores. We cannot be sure of the quality of such medications. They cost less and are therefore suspect as to their quality. The American people must be protected at any cost – even if it means that many cannot afford to purchase needed medications.
90% of our vitamin C comes from China, along with most of the vitamins we buy off the shelf and those used to fortify our food. 70 percent of the world's penicillin comes from China. Anyone remember the movie “The Third Man”, with Orson Wells?
Isn’t penicillin a prescription drug? What gives? You can fill in the blanks as you wish.

Condiments that we use with our food come from China. One report stated that 100% of the vanilla sold in this country comes from China. So we have potential and real health threats, American companies are closing as they cannot compete (the labels are still from “trusted American companies”) and it only gets worse. I know that none of this is important to most folks – you have to work your head off to survive and pay your taxes.
Several major United States food companies are complaining to our government. They do not like the lack of controls the Chinese and the United States have over protecting our foodstuff, etc.
Oh well, it can only get worse.
