>>>I'm of two minds about abortion. I don't believe in the idea that a one celled creature inside a womb is a viable human being. There comes a point at which abortion may be tantamount to murder, but I disagree with those who feel that the time is from conception. Unfortunately, I'm not versed well enough in human biology to make that determination. So, for the time being, I believe it should be up to the keeper of the womb, with reasonable advice to make that choice. I won't condemn it. As I understand it too, the term 'partial birth abortion' is a phrase made up by the pro-life people, as a more emotionally evocative way of saying 'late term abortion'?
>>>
>>>Bottom line, I'm not anti-abortion.

>>I don't know of any clinical abortion that is perform at conception (unless you consider the M.A.P. pill). It's usually done well past the first month. Do you know what a fetus looks like after the first month. It certainly is'nt a single cell "creature" anymore. Your definition of "late term" abortion is just half the story.
>
>No, abortions don't happen at conception, but if you listen to the pro-life lobby, that's when the fetus becomes a viable life form and should be protected from abortion. They have their opinions, I have mine. I read up on 'partial birth abortion' and from everything I've been able to find on it, it is not a term coined in the medical or legal communities. It was created by the pro-life lobby and means essentially the same thing as 'late term abortion' but has greater emotional impact. It is a relatively uncommon procedure which is used only for very specific reasons.
>
>I have no problem with the pro-life lobby when they conduct themselves in a civilised manner, but when they start shooting doctors and abusing women who are trying to get into a clinic, they lose whatever respect to which they feel they have a right.

Shooting abortion doctors too are "relatively" uncommon. When was the last time an abortion doctor was murderd by some crazy nut?
When was the last partial birth abortion performed... there maybe hundred being performed as we speak.

We talk about how we cherish life when we talk about war, murder, disease etc., but.... that's just it, it's just all talk.
The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money.

No man’s life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session.
