This message has been marked as the solution to the initial question of the thread.
>To copy my production database to a development database, I back up the database and restore it over the old development database. However, when I do this the user name I use has it's login name set to and I can't find a way to set it back. Before I would always just delete the user and recreate, but I don't want to have to go in and reset all the permissions. Anybody know how to solve this?

I found this solution: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=274188
