We are having this weird problem compiling a project under VFP 3. After processing a few files, VFP says "Input/output operation failure", and the build gets interrupted.
Here are a few more details, that (to me) give a very inconsistent picture:
The problem appears both when compiling an EXE, and when rebuilding the project, whether I select "recompile all files", or not.
When creating a new project (of course, I suspected project corruption), and include the same main program, the error also appears.
All files in the project directory and subdirectories have attributes "A" or "" (IOW, no read-only files).
We have no problems creating or modifying files in the directory.
Several GB of free disk space.
If we copy the entire project to another computer, it works.
Compiling other projects on the same computer, also works.
I suspect the problem appears when VFP tries to process a specific program component, but how can I find out which it is?
